It has been a while since I said "Hello!", so I wanted to let you know what's been happening. Of course, there was the busyness of the holiday season that took me out of the studio for a while. However, I was lucky enough to have some custom orders to make for several people to give to the special someones in their lives for Christmas. It is one of my greatest joys to be even a small part of a kind gesture people extend towards each other, so it was a delight to make items for customers' loved ones.
Beyond that, I am back to working in my studio and bringing new ideas to light. It is taking some time to figure out the details, but I am excited about the direction things are moving. It seems, though, that no matter what type or amount of clay I work with, I am covered in it from head to toe. It most certainly ends up in my hair. How fortunate I am to get to play in the mud each day and to get a little messy!
Though I don't have any new finished pieces to show you at this time, know that I am busy working on new items and planning my shows for 2018. I will keep you posted here and on my Facebook page as to my new show dates and locations, and I will share my new work in the near future.
My heart dropped into my toes when my husband asked me this morning if the Wild Bunch Art Show in Glasgow was the weekend after next. Just how fast can time fly??? With a quick check of the calendar and a careful count of the weekends, my heart rose up to my knees with the realization that the show is the third weekend from now...November 17, 18, and 19. That gives me one more week to complete some more pieces, anyway.
If you're in the area or are feeling up to a nice autumn/winter drive, I'd love to see any and all of you in Glasgow at the Cottonwood Inn for the Wild Bunch Art Show 2017 November 17-19. It is my first official art show, and I couldn't be more thrilled. Until then, you will find me in my studio hovering over this piece and that piece painting and glazing.
Hi, everyone! I just want to let you know that I will be showing next Saturday, September 9, 2017, at the Lewistown Chokecherry Festival. I am very excited to be going, as I hear it is a lot of fun, with a wide variety of events and booths and food, and of course, chokecherry yummies of all kinds. I will be located on the corner of the sixth block of Main Street. New pieces will be available, which means I had better get to work now! I look forward to next Saturday. Hope to see you there!
Many of my pieces are available exclusively through Latigo & Lace in Augusta, Montana. It is a beautiful shop with a wide array of outstanding work from artists around the state.
Augusta is a small community seated at the trailhead of the Bob Marshall Wilderness. It is definitely worth the day drive to visit the town, enjoy the gallery, eat a burger and have a local Wilcoxson's ice cream cone at Mel's Diner or try Montana's pork chop sandwich with an adult beverage at The Western Bar & Grill. A trip into The Bob provides spectacular views, excellent camping and fishing, and a great get away from the rat race of the day-to-day.
The first Great Falls Farmer's Market of the year went off Saturday, June 3. It was a beautiful day with a good turnout. I loved getting to visit with everyone that stopped by, and I look forward to next week's show. I'm excited for the rest of the season and to meet even more of you!
In the meantime, I'm working on some new pieces and hope to have them fired and on display within the next two shows. If you can't make it to the market, I will have all of my items listed here on my website, and I can ship to anyone, anywhere.
I hope to see you either at the Saturday shows or here on the web! Happy days to all of you!
Passing on news and occasional ponderings.
